Lex­ing­ton was launched in 2247 from the Coper­ni­cus Ship Yards on Luna under the com­mand of Cap­tain Mark Korolev. Under Korolev’s com­mand, Lex­ing­ton per­formed two 5‑year mis­sions focus­ing on the spin­ward regions of the Fed­er­a­tion bor­der in the Alpha Quad­rant. Between these two mis­sions, Lex­ing­ton spent two months in dry dock under­go­ing sensor sys­tems improve­ments. After Korolev’s pro­mo­tion to Com­modore, Lex­ing­ton was assigned mul­tiple COs and patrolled the sec­tors of space around the Tzen­kethi Coali­tion and the Helaspont Neb­ula. Lex­ing­ton then returned to Coper­ni­cus Ship Yards for a long over­due warp propul­sion refit. After suf­fer­ing severe dam­age from the Enter­prise under con­trol of the M‑5 unit and then under­go­ing repairs, Lex­ing­ton re-entered reg­u­lar service.
